Standard Hospitalization

Standard hospitalization generally follows a preliminary outpatient specialist consultation to assess whether it must be carried out urgently, can be postponed, or can take place as a Day-Hospital or Day-Surgery admission.
The patient is then added to a waiting list and later contacted by phone regarding the date and time they must report to the Hospital Admission office.

Emergency Hospitalization

In urgent cases, access the Emergency Room at Via Santo Garovaglio 14 – Tel. 031/324376.
Please note that, according to specific legal provisions (D.P.R. 27.3.1969, no. 128, art. 14):
“The on-call physician decides on the necessity of admission and the appropriate destination for the patient.”

Hospitalization within the hospital divisions can occur in three forms:

  • Shared two-bed room (no payment required from the patient)
  • Single room with hotel-level amenities (upon request and subject to availability, with an additional charge for the requested comfort)
  • Private practice hospitalization (provides a private room with services and the ability to choose the attending physician. Requires a fixed payment based on intervention time, as specified in the hospital’s rate schedule, available before admission)

Required Documents for Hospitalization

  • Identity document

  • Regional Health Card (CRS/SISS) or equivalent documentation

  • Referral from the attending physician

  • Complete prior clinical documentation, including all test results, indications, and information about current medications

Inpatient Services

  • Personal radios and televisions may be used with head nurse authorization and with respect for other patients

  • Coin-operated vending machines for drinks and snacks are available in the hospital lobbies

Discharge

Photocopies of the Medical Record, radiological exams, hospitalization certificates with diagnosis, childbirth assistance certificates, and copies of outpatient reports must be requested at the Medical Report Collection Office, located near the Emergency Room entrance at Via Santo Garovaglio 14 (Entrance G).
Hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM – 3:30 PM.
Fees for these documents are set by the Administration. Requests must be made by the patient or someone delegated by them. If the request is sent by mail, the patient's signature must be certified by the local municipality.
Delivery of the documentation typically takes about two weeks from the request date, so it is advisable to make the request at the time of discharge.

The Functional Rehabilitation and Re-education Center provides its services through the following types of hospitalization:

Inpatient Admission

Planned following a specialist consultation to assess the indications for admission, evaluate recovery potential, and define objectives through the formulation of a rehabilitation program.
In some cases, admission may be based on detailed clinical reports—preferably provided by rehabilitation medicine specialists—highlighting the patient’s clinical condition and recovery prospects that justify admission to the Center.

Hospitalization is provided for the rehabilitation of:

  • Severe brain injuries
  • Movement disorders
  • Respiratory failure

Day Hospital

This type of admission is scheduled and agreed upon with the medical directors of the Center, usually following a preliminary visit to determine the indications and methods of assessment to be implemented, and to place the patient on the waiting list.

Day Hospital admissions are carried out for:

  • Complex neuropsychological evaluations
  • Gait analysis
  • Upper limb movement analysis
  • Seated posture analysis

Waiting List

If the indication for admission (inpatient or Day Hospital) is confirmed by the Center’s Specialists, the patient will be placed on the appropriate waiting list. The admission date will be communicated by phone at least 10 days in advance.
